Vabljeno predavanje: doc. dr. Nadica Miljković

Vljudno vabljeni na predavanje doc. dr. Nadice Miljković, ki bo v petek, 5. aprila 2019, ob 10h v diplomski sobi Fakultete za elektrotehniko, Univerze v Ljubljani.

Title: Biosignals for assessment of cybersickness

Abstract: The talk will explore a variety of available biosignals for quantitative assessment of motion sickness. Specific focus will be given to the assessment of cybersickness, being a special case of motion sickness induced by virtual reality and simulator experiences. Cybersickness is not just an interesting phenomenon that deserves to be explored; it’s also a major stumbling block for the wider application of virtual reality. Recent boost of scientific interest in well known method to record biosignals related to gastric motility (electrogastrography, EGG) might just suit the need for objective assessment of this unpleasant phenomenon. Results of a recent case study with aim at assessment of cybersickness by EGG will be presented together with pathways and pitfalls for future EGG application.

Bio: Nadica Miljković is Assistant Professor at the University of Belgrade – School of Electrical Engineering at the Signals and Systems Department with rich experience in biomedical engineering. Her main research areas include biosignal processing and acquisition, feature extraction, computer-aided diagnosis, electrophysiology, and rehabilitation engineering. Currently, she teaches undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD courses from the fields of medical instrumentation, biosignal processing, clinical engineering, and electrical measurements. She was engaged in R&D projects aiming at design of novel therapeutic and diagnostic devices in industry for more than 6 years. Dr Miljković’s main scientific contributions are related to the (1) application of multi-array electrodes in both biosignal measurements and electrical stimulation and (2) development of novel assessment methods based on measurement and analysis of biosignals in humans.

Vabljenemu predavanju doc. dr. Nadice Miljković bo sledila “hands-on” predstavitev EGG meritev.
